Below you will find all the key information necessary for renting a vehicle, including rental conditions, required documents, pricing and deposit, as well as insurance and rules for driving outside Croatia.
Who can rent a vehicle
Only individuals over 21 years of age with a valid driving license held for at least two years can rent a vehicle. Upon vehicle pick-up, you are required to present a valid passport or ID card and your driving license. Our staff is obliged to copy and keep these documents in our records.
By signing the rental agreement, you confirm that you understand and accept the agreed rental price, additional services, deposit amount, and the exact return time. You also acknowledge that you have read and accepted all general rental conditions.
Rental price
The daily rental price includes tax, comprehensive insurance, and unlimited mileage, unless otherwise stated in a promotional offer. The standard billing period is 24 hours from the time of vehicle pick-up, with a one-hour grace period for return.
All prices are expressed in euros, and payment can be made in cash or by credit/debit card (VISA, MasterCard, AMEX) at the time of pick-up.
Deposit
A deposit is required upon vehicle pick-up and depends on the selected vehicle class. The minimum deposit is €200, while for drivers under 25 years old it is at least €500. Returning customers may be eligible for a reduced deposit.
The deposit can be paid in cash or by reserving funds on a credit card. Efex Rent A Car reserves the right to adjust the deposit amount or refuse to release the vehicle if conditions are not met. Deposits can also be paid in other currencies according to the euro exchange rate.
Vehicle insurance
The rental price includes basic comprehensive insurance with a deductible up to the deposit amount. This means that in case of an accident or vehicle theft, your liability is limited to the deposit.
Additionally, it is possible to opt for full comprehensive insurance. With full insurance, in the event of an accident or theft, you are not liable for damages, provided an official police report is submitted. Full insurance does not cover interior damage such as stained or burnt seats, scratches, or other surface damage. Tire insurance is not included in either basic or full insurance.
Driving outside Croatia
Driving our vehicles outside Croatia is allowed only with prior approval and payment of a special fee of €70. Please notify us in advance if you plan to travel to neighboring countries so we can authorize the vehicle. Without our approval, driving abroad is not permitted.
